There is a man, who lives on the M62. For those not familiar, it’s a notouriously busy motorway running east to west through the north of England. The mid section, linking Leeds with Manchester runs over the hills Pennine region and boasts the highest section of motorway in the UK at 1,221 feet above sea level.

Due to the hilly torrain the east and west carrigeways had to be split in two at this section. It meant that the owner of this farm got to keep his house, but it is right in the middle of the motorway.

He simply couldn’t afford to move to a new farm or rebuild his house elsewhere on the farm. It’s a legend on the M62 corridor and also a popular tourist attraction at 70mph!
